Osteospermums are often confused with Dimorphotheca, which is not surprising. At one stage, Dimorphotheca was used for those annuals which have white, yellow or orange flowers, and Osteospermum was applied to the white, pink, or purple flowered perennial plants. Now, however, there are pink annuals referred to as Osteospermums.
Whatever the correct botanical name, these annual plants forming neat little bushes with rough foliage, and bearing white or pink daisy flowers, are generally known as Osteospermums.
