Echinacea purpurea

Echinacea purpurea is a tough fast-growing plant reaching a height of 3 or four feet. The leaves are deep green and coarse, and the flowers are pink with a raised central cone of orange. It has a long flowering season, and the strong stems make it useful for cutting as well as garden display.

Echinacea purpurea is also used in herbal medicine and homeopathy.
