Aubrieta x cultorum hybrids are perhaps the most well-known and popular spring-flowering plants. They make neat mounds of colour, with plants growing to only 4" or so in height, but spreading over a foot, making them ideal ground-cover or for growing over walls. They come in all shades of mauve, pink, blue, and the occasional white, with single or semi-double flowers, make a colourful carpet in all types of soil.
