Cladanthus arabicus

Cladanthus arabicus is, as its Latin name suggests, a plant originating in North Africa, and not, as its common name implies, from Palm Springs. It is an aromatic bushy annual, growing to about 16" or more, with soft rounded stems, and very finely divided feathery leaves, bearing large yellow daisies all summer. These are unusual in that the main flower on each stem is followed by further flowers on stems arising directly under and at right angles to the main flower.

Cladanthus arabicus is not hardy, so seeds need to be sown after the danger of frost, or under cover. Once started, however, plants are fast growing.
